SUCCESS STORY: Kristin Podolecki
"The Fishing Lake Settlement is proud to share a success story of a student from Fishing Lake who accomplished his goals and dreams.
In 2006, Kristin Podolecki, a member with the Fishing Lake Settlement signed up to take a Youth Group Training Project on Settlement called “Trail To Industry”. Kristin had some serious goals, both personal and professional. His aim was to take some training so that he could get a job as a field operator in the Oil & Gas Industry so that he would be in a position to be a good father to his newly announced pregnant girlfriend.
This training project started out with Boot Camp that was taught by members of the Cold Lake Air Force, one of the most important things that happened to Kristin during this course was the introduction to a video called “The Secret”. This video seemed to empower him at the time. He became a leader in his class, doing what he could to try to ensure that the whole group of youth successfully completed the program. It was this leadership and his determination to succeed that saw him through a training program that gave him the tools and certification required to obtain employment as a Field Operator.
Within 2 months of completing this program in 2007, Kristin landed a full time permanent position with Crescent Point Energy. Kevin is still employed with Crescent Point and today is a proud Daddy to 2 beautiful children with his 3rd on the way. This is no accident because Kristin made it very clear what he wanted in life, Employment, a Family, and a home. We salute Kristin Podolecki and his determination and will to succeed. Kevin got his career on track, received the precious gift of family and a new home on Settlement. Congratulations Kristin, you are a true role model."
